Most P&Ds are short lived. Initially the pump and dumpers will begin to accumulate their shares gradually on the open market over a few days or weeks. That is then followed by the announcement of a wonderful company on a board which is accompanied by a daily/weekly barrage of company PRs which assists the 'pump', or bringing up the share price. The ridiculous PR campaigns include such things as hundreds of millions of financing from undisclosed sources, dividends is excess of the share price, mergers with other companies that no one has every heard of, etc.
