Ok, but the environmental effect can be minimized. I believe that some kind of balance has to be strike between ANAM and Mining Industry. Some cool heads has to prevail, I don't care if reasonable people from both sides would sit down at the table and come to some kind of agreement beneficial to both parties. I would set up this meeting in a nice resort ( all expenses paid by Minera and PTQ) and compromise with those guys ; Promise that we will re-forestage, re-generate, re-plant what ever and allocate with help of Panama Government so many thousands hectares to a conservation program to protect local fauna, etc. With all that doe coming some small part can be donated for a future environmental issues, .. All it takes just to show some understanding and sincere interest in local issues. Habitat of Central America is extremely important to variety of species on this planet, thousands of birds and marine creatures migrate that route every year. So our management has to dedicated to the principles of environmentally sound mining and refining practices, and to believe that environmental stewardship and mining CAN co-exist.
Am I sound like a "tree-huger" ? - naa , but I do have a lot of respect for Life and Balance on our planet.
