I was just thinking.. If and when Wanderport has its first completed and shipped unit, I would take a guess and say that their initial revenue stream will come from outside of the United States. For all the talk we do in the US for conservation, our consumers need to be pushed into going "green", simply because we have an income and resource level that allows us to waste. However, for most of the rest of the world, water and electricity supplies are not as plentiful, so a technology that is a necessity and can conserve both will be very popular. As a result of these countries actually having to conserve both water and electricity because they do not have the ample supply to waste as we do, I believe Wanderport has a great opportunity to take advantage, if managed correctly. In addition to a lesser extent, foreign countries have an easier time mandating such newer technologies as they are less hand-tied by the political and corporate influence as many newer companies are in the US, as they try to break into an industry. Eventually, if all goes well with product completion it will take several years for this to take hold in the US. The biggest reason is that your average water heater tank lasts roughly seven years, and the vast majority of people will wait for their tank to burst all over their basement floor and ruin their furniture, before they replace it to a tankless technology. This scenario I believe will happen and if it does so, Wanderport is looking at consistent revenue growth for many years to come.
As for the US market, if water-heating technology goes the way of lighting, then Wanderport will be positioned as an industry leader in my opinion. I say this in the context of LED lighting. I do own stock in a US based LED lighting manufacture and retailer. Wanderport too is in the LED space with its acquisition of LDI Technologies. In 2012 ( if the end of the world doesn't take place, lol ) there will be changes to lighting efficiency requirements of standard T12 flourescent lamps (the long thin ones above your head in your office). These changes are legislative. The cost savings in switching to LED technology are significant, and the cost saving to Wanderport's unit will also be just as substantial. If Wanderport can complete the units to their desired specifications, 1. The purchaser of the product will save in electricity costs and water usage costs on their end. 2. With a reduction of electricity usage, there is a reduction of oil consumption by power plants that use the oil to produce the electricity. ( I am pulling on your patriotic heart string and am saying that less foreign oil consumption is a good thing. ) Coincidently, LED lighting works in the same manner as it relates to the reduction of oil consumption in the production of electricity. My hope is that Wanderport can make some legislative in roads and express to the powers that be that it is technology like this, true innovation from the private sector, that leads to true conservation of our resources.
In full discloser, I have been invested in Wanderport since February of 2010, and view this company as a long term investment, not one I am willing to day trade. Sorry if a sound like I am pumping this stock, my intention is not too, just to express my opinion about a company that does not come along all to often with true innovation and my excitement about being in on the ground floor. Good Luck to ALL.
