InterDigital Showcases Differentiated 14 Mbps HSDPA and RF Interference
Management Solutions at CTIA Wireless 2005
NEW ORLEANS, Mar 14, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- InterDigital Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:IDCC), a leading architect, designer and provider of wireless technology and product platforms, is showcasing its innovative UMTS FDD HSDPA and Adaptive Interference Management(TM) (AIM) product solutions this week at CTIA Wireless 2005 (Booth 4821) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
InterDigital's HSDPA demonstration features an application of streaming video over an HSDPA enabled PC card and software that dynamically adapts to changing channel conditions. Compliant with the 3GPP Release 5 standard, the Company's HSDPA product is a cost-effective solution designed to integrate with existing FDD physical layer chips. InterDigital's coprocessor architecture supports peak data rates up to 14Mbps.
Offered as technology blocks for incorporation into FDD Release 99/Release 4 chips or as a separate coprocessor, InterDigital's HSDPA product features an advanced receiver design that delivers improved performance, data throughput and network capacity. The solution efficiently scales to all HSDPA data rates, and offers a rapid time-to-market upgrade to FDD HSDPA Release 5. The Company is targeting third quarter 2005 for availability of its HSDPA coprocessor ASIC.
In addition to the HSDPA coprocessor, InterDigital is developing a complete FDD Release 5 solution for Layers 1, 2 and 3, which is targeted for availability in the first half of 2006. InterDigital's HSDPA demonstration also will be featured in Anritsu's booth (#637) at the CTIA Wireless show.

The AIM PERFORMWARE solution is an RF interference management middleware product that minimizes the impact of RF interference in WLAN networks and can be easily integrated into a Wi-Fi manufacturer's access point platform with minimal customization. Using patented RF measurement-based technologies, a WLAN access point enabled with AIM PERFORMWARE can dynamically monitor the radio environment and automatically optimize important system parameters such as channel and power.
