Speaking of market makers shivering, does anyone know exactly what Knight had done to generate the $79 million fine last week? The NASD made references to the fact that they made too much money trading. But how?

(I know there were also supervisory issues. I'm just curious what malfeasance Pasternak et. al. were supposed to be stopping but were overlooking.)
