well not everyone thought those immigrants should be welcomed
some thought they should not even be allowed to land
it was an ongoing argument for the best part of 200 years
from 1492 through 1692
unfortunately, here, there existed true socialist democracies
and they were more complicated than most realize in terms
of how major decisions passed and were accepted
with women included in those decisions
this was actually one of the reasons why women were not allowed to vote
in the Jefferson model....Jefferson was aware of how this led to our downfall
Jefferson was quite the student of our systems of gov't
and he met and discussed how we governed with a number of NA leaders
and this affected how he developed with others
the foundations of the American system of gov't
just a tidbit of Jeffersonian history usually skipped over unless one reads his writings
