Big deal...The President of the VOF has a phone number in Arizona and a phone number in Rome...they spend time in both places...so what is your point?

Coyne was appointed Director of the Vatican Observatory by Pope John Paul I in 1978. Sounds like he answers to the Pope to me and as President of the VOF he probably has something to say about the design. How do you know that Coyne isn't in Rome right now talking to Benedict XVI?
