Jim... no doubt about it. Shares that don't exist were shorted to achieve a more-than-100% ownership. A few months back Overstock reported that it had something on the order of 6000 shareholders and that the largest 60 holders own 106% of the company! This underscores how broken our markets are.

It doesn't take a lot of thought to understand the ramifications on a stock price when this is allowed to happen.
