ALL PCs shipped at about this time next year, both Enterprise AND Comsumer PCs, will have TPM 1.2 embedded inside. If not, those PCs will be incompatible with LONGHORN.
(editorial note: While this has been known for quite some time on the board, it has been communicated in an academic rather than an evangelical manner. Therefore I get the impression that many here don't fully appreciate what Longhorn means to the future of this investment in the coming months.
(an evangelical note) LONGHORN = THE TPM UBIQUITY LAUNCH WILL HAPPEN WITHIN 12 MONTHS! AND WAVE IS PRESENTLY THE ONLY COMPANY THAT CAN PROVIDE THE INTEROPERABLE SOFTWARE THAT WILL MAKE THOSE TPMS USEFUL TO THE USER!!!!
AND SO.......
LET US ALL FALL TO OUR KNEES TO PRAISE MICROSOFT!
MICROSOFT WILL DRIVE THE TPM market towards ubiquity because of LONGHORN!!!!! PERIOD! END OF STORY!
None of the PC OEMS were seriously committed to drive TPMs into the marketplace, until MS walked in and told the OEMs: IF NOT TPM 1.2, THEN NO LONGHORN LOGO FOR YOUR PCS!
(editorial note: Every WAVE investor should hang a poster of the LONGHORN LOGO and BOW DOWN TO IT VERY MORNING! WITHOUT LONGHORN THE SLOG WOULD HAVE CONTINUED ON FOR HOW MANY MORE YEARS?)
S. Sprague discussed the above in a very strident and politically incorrect manner. Essentially he divides the computing universe into two camps: THOSE WHO "GET IT" AND THOSE WHO DON'T! THOSE WHO ARE "STUPID", AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT! What can I say other than I like his style!!!
He indicated there will be a flash point when the street will finally figure out that TPMs are going to be everywhere. Right know the street is utterly ignorant about TPMs and how TPMs will cause a "revolution in E-Commerce".
