I spoke to S. Sprague at INTEL's IDF yesterday. I've written a rough draft, which I'll smooth out, and probably post tomorrow.
But since there was discussion regarding Longhorn and WAVE, let me just throw in some things that S. Sprague discussed with me.
According to S. Sprague, Microsoft absolutely "Gets It". In fact, the fundamental reason WHY TPMs are going to be STANDARD in all DELL PCs(both enterprise and consumer) by this time next year is due to LONGHORN. PERIOD!!!
If WAVE had to depend on the PC OEMs to get TPMs pushed out the door in ubquitious fashion, it would never have happened!

MICROSOFT with the introduction of LONGHORN has give ALL the PC OEMS essentially NO CHOICE: IF YOUR PCs DO NOT HAVE A TPM INSIDE THEN YOUR PC WILL NOT BE LONGHORN COMPLIANT. AND COME 2006 THOSE PCs THAT DON'T HAVE THE LITTLE STICKER ON IT THAT SAYS "LONGHORN COMPLIANT" WILL BECOME IMMEDIATE RELICS. PERIOD. END OF STORY. LONGHORN WILL PUT WAVE AND TPMs OVER THE TOP!
