Wow! This story is getting really bizarre. The post below from 2005 on the mg-rover forum is about the OITC making a bid of $5 bill USD for MG Rover Group, with another $5 bill for expansion.

It also states in 2005 that the OITC is pledging billions of pounds to the UK economy (déjà vu)? The post is a long read but interesting considering recent news.

Now here is the bizarre part. At the same time Lord James of Blackheath was also making a bid for MG Rover Group. The U.K. media needs to do a little research on this strange coincidence. It's just too weird, imo.

In 2005 he attempted to make a bid for troubled carmakers MG Rover.

According to David Day, who represents the Office of International Treasury Control (OITC). I have to stick my hand in the air at this point and say that when a representive of Malcom Walsh group posted this earlier on (18th April), we took it for a scam and Sin-binned the thread. We couldn't find anything out about them, but then if what they say about operating at government level is correct, its not suprising we didn't find anything out about them.

Below is the original post by David Sale, of Markham Walsh Group, its pretty lengthy, so bear with it!

After that, I'll post a copy of the letter sent to the National Audit office by David Day, the OITCs representative in the UK, who I have spoken to.

If this is trueful and above board then great - we should be behind it 110%. They apparently will be going public with this later this week and the OITC are threatening to withdraw billions of pounds they have pledged to the UK economy, if this is true a) it should provoke a response from the Government and b) that should validate who OTIC are.

Quote from David Sale's letter:

"The OITC has offered to acquire (actual purchase price is to be agreed) the whole interests of the ailing car group and inject an initial $5 bill USD ($5,000,000,000 USD) with a further $5 bill USD ($5,000,000,000 USD) to expand and develop the MG Rover Group, together with a completely new range of vehicles and a new image."

The OITC and MG Rover

The OITC first came to public attention in 2005 with an attempted bid for the failed MG Rover Group in the United Kingdom. The London Daily Telegraph reported that "a Mr David Sale and a Dr Ray Dam claim to have offered to buy MG Rover for $5 billion." The Financial Times reported that the OITC had given the administrators a deposit of one pound, made out as a postal order.[1] According to Sale and Dam, Rover's administrators PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) were refusing to take their bid seriously even though (according to them) Prime Minister Tony Blair had acknowledged it in a letter. However, PWC told the Telegraph that it had never heard of the OITC and the Prime Minister's office had no record of the OITC's letter.[4] The bid met with considerable skepticism among MG Rover enthusiasts[13] and was evidently discarded by the administrators, as the OITC did not appear on the final list of bidders.[citation needed]
