I think for me the key line is this:

"A broader definition specifies dilution as any event that reduces an investor's stock price below the initial purchase price."

When SFMI is getting a loan against OUR GOLD that my share price paid to get out and or gets more money from investors - either way they must be paid back. Thus, rather than selling OUR GOLD SFMI is right now diluting our share value!
