I communicated with Andy Whelan a few weeks ago now. Simply fired him an e-mail with a few questions - got a response immediately - followed up with a few more and got a quick response again over the weekend. Pretty impressive for a CEO to respond intelligently and quickly to a shareholder like that.
Andy indicated that whilst funding is tight there is no discussion of in increase in O/S - not necessary based on his sales expectations, even though no real pick up in sales expected in Q3 - but lots more potential for Q4 with Canada, Latin America and Europe all kicking in by Q4. They have also, though not depending on, applied for a grant of over $1M from the US Therapeutic Discovery Program.
The overall tone of Andy's responses to my questions was very calm, intelligent, measured and sensible. No ridiculous amount of overoptimism, but a general sense that this company is getting on with its business of distributing an excellent product in countries where it can be successful, whilst still going about the business of pushing the FDA to do what it needs to do - and will do - to get into the US retail market.
Get rich quick merchants who can't take the heat have mostly already got out of the kitchen and run. As an investor - I have a longer time line to get rich here. Good time to buy in my humble opinion.
Have a nice day folks. See you in a few months.
