Thousands of people own working interests in oil and gas wells with zero experience in the oil and gas business. The operator does everything. All you have to know how to do is pay your cash call when you get it and then cash your check when you get that. I know many individuals who invest as working interest owners and have done it myself. It's a no brainer. Of course the difficult part for someone with no experience in oil and gas is picking what to invest in, not running the operation after the fact. AMJ obviously has no clue how this works.

I'm glad they are moving away from the marginal property idea but have my doubts if they can find anything worth buying. Quite frankly I think they would have far more success trying to buy US properties than African properties.

I could find a small US operator looking for a few million to drill some wells in an already producing field in exchange for a working interest. I seriously doubt those type of opportunities exist in Africa. Management needs to wise up quick and shop in the right store. That ain't Africa.
