I sent this off to geoff
Dear geoff,
before you embarrass the CBC with the maniacal ravings of the CMKX cult, make sure you talk to people with no money in the deal but who were instrumental in bringing this obvious paper scam to the attention of the SEC
The disciples of the liars that perpetuate some elusion that they will get some sort of windfall out of this everyday scam, are now claiming that there is a 3.87 trillion dollar fund hidden somewhere.
They claim this is part of some naked short selling settlement.
I dont know how well informed you are about sub-penny BB stocks with astronomical numbers of outstanding shares (most of which were illegally introduced to the market by management according to the records) , but when the game is up and the scam is uncovered, the fault is always the naked shorts according to the more naive shareholders.
In fact, it rarely if ever is.
All I can say is that you should talk to some of the people who have no agenda other than giving one more scam some daylight, before you embarrass yourself and the CBC. Get this one wrong and you may destroy your career as a real investigative journalist.
So far, every official body (SEC, FBI, DOJ, etc etc ) has made it clear this is just another papermill with an impressive outstanding share count. 703 billion shares on the market. do the math.
Have fun, but make sure you talk to parties on both sides of this "conspiracy issue".
The rallying cliches uttered by disciples of a stock scam are obsequious, obliquitous, and ubiquitous
