True since majority of the howard fans have probably listened to him since his early days. I used to listen to him daily, though can't say I ever ever listened to an entire show. He has his moments and I would simply tune out during them, and check back later!!

So take out the hardcore fans of many years and how could there really be any true lasting impact? Having listened to him for many many years and catching him back in the beginning I know what his gig is all about. I'm not sure anyone tuning in today would hang around long enough to figure that out and not react to some of the crap that simply is his radio shtick. Even as a long time howard listener, Siri has always been about alot more than "howard". Hell, when I had Siri/XM can't say I tuned in all that much. Perhaps that was because of all the years listening, maybe I'd just grown tired of the act, even though I enjoyed him at many times.

So if he leaves, Siri will be just fine, if not better...long term. Short term "reaction" no doubt.

If he stays, no doubt the deal will have to work for both parties. Howard is smart, he'll get as much as he can out of this. Part of the company, more time off (like he needs more, he takes any more he'll have more time off than retirees), more control over programming....blah blah blah.
