Who's selling? Let's pose the hypothesis that a large shareholder or shareholders with huge paper loss wants to capture a substantial tax loss carry-forward, but not forsake later significant upside. Based on educated assessments, he(she) judges CTGI will be sitting in the basement for at least 30 days. The stock is dumped, not only driving the price down but also casting a pall of gloom. Ideas are seeded the Company is itself madly dumping shares at absurdly low prices, which notion, though implausible, nevertheless stokes the fires of pessimism and reluctance of others to buy. Upon T+30, the tax-loss seller(s) scoops up still very cheap CTGI shares and later rides the upside. Result: profits accrued from the strategy are tax free.
These are my opinions and sentiments. Buying stocks poses demonstrable risks; you could lose all or part of your principal investment. Use iBoxes for DD start.
