Anyone know what an "IDI" is in the context of the FDIC and Covered Bonds?

Does this explain why the bond market went nuts? Covered bonds are only covered in the event of a failure of the financial institution (per my previous post).

Take a look at this interim "Statement of Policy" issued in April of 2008.
