From Sanswire Update:

"February 28th - The final section of batteries will arrive from Germany. Shipments of the batteries will start arriving February 16th. Once all the batteries have arrived the final installation will be completed and tested."

Are the bateries for charging during the daytime and then providing power at night? If this is true then the Popular Science skeptisism in the article is invalid!

Or are the bateries just for emergency power?

If neither of the above, then what are they used for?
