What has happened in the past is this:
A well is drilled and given a name . Say it is the Smith Number 1.
Then later the smith number 1 is being operated under another name. From what I gather wells have moved from one operator to another at the interest owners request. This is routine. But, what is not routine is for the wells to be moved and the interest owners being shafted from their assets they own. It really doesn't matter who operates a well. What matters is those who own an overiding interset, a working interest, or a royalty interest need to get their money from production.
I believe that wells Lanza's operations companies have managed wells in the past and who knows what company they belong to now. It's funny how companies come and go and assets are moved having the old shareholders holding the bag. Why would Lanza not reveal what assets he added to his collection and now has had to give up?
