Tentacle, unfortunately, the doctor would not know the normal level of RECAF for the patient involved. All he might possibly know is the pre-treatment level and the post treatment level.

The normal level of RECAF for anyone varies from low to even above he normal cutoff level of 4700 units that would indicate cancer. So, in no way would a doctor be able to tell if the cancer is all gone with a RECAF test.

That is the main problem with RECAF. Stephen Frost presented a poster for Abbott at the 2007 ISOBM on RECAF where it was stated that the cancer / normal ratio needed to be increased in order to have a commerically viable test. There is still an overlap of the normal and cancer levels. That was the last thing Abbott ever did with RECAF.
