I`ll give you a simple answer. LOL! They didn't prove that their results of so many PPM of oil was from the BP spill. Storm water run-off could be the explanation. Marinas in particular always have elevated levels of oil and contaminates. How do we know there is much more now?

No IMO, the story was Not accurate to the point it was addressing. Was it from the BP spill or was it there before? Is the reporter and hired chemist (not scientist) qualified to say? How can they say without the before and after data?

Anyway, does anyone know if the MOP sorbent would be effective picking up this invisible oil that can't be seen or smelled or would that be left to the so called oil/hydrocarbon eating bacteria/microbes.
