When people say 'slap the ask' they're not just saying it to sound smart. The reason is that if you put an order in low - around best bid or lower -- the mm's will gladly fill you short. Then the next guy says, "oh i want a deal too." So the mm's fill him low and short more shares. Then finally when the d*mn stock is around .0001, the mm's are happy to start buying back the shares they shorted.

We're playing a different game down here in the gutter. Stop trying to get a deal when anything below .50 cents is a deal. imho. eom.
