LEE, MA--(Marketwire - 08/04/10) - Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ:WAVX - News) (www.wave.com) today announced that its Chief Scientist Robert Thibadeau, PhD, will host a pre-conference workshop on flash security on Monday, August 16, and a special open tutorial on flash and virtualization Thursday, August 19th, at the Flash Memory Summit at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Now in its fifth year, the Flash Memory Summit focuses on developments in flash, a type of constantly powered nonvolatile memory that can be easily erased and rewritten. Flash, or solid-state, hard drives are a growing segment of the hard drive market, prized for their smaller size, durability and low power consumption. Last year, Samsung Electronics introduced the first solid-state, self-encrypting hard drive (SEDs) to the market, based on the Opal standard published by the Trusted Computing Group.
