It sounds like you're using that rig for really basic computing. Like e mail, pics, music, some light word processing, and as an internet connection. Is that close to how you're using it??

If it is, you could get a brand new netbook or a pretty desktop computer for between 200 to 400 bucks, which may even be less than 2 gigs of that old memory.

If you're not opposed to buying a good condition, refurbished rig, you could probably find a machine that's not so basic and has more whistles and bells on Ebay.
