When the final result or an intermediate but significant result happens...then you start chaining backwards to see what kind of causal events occurred. In AI they call that backward inference. For example, like you say the stock gets revoked, then there will be entities that will dig out the past events/parties that caused the revocation. The information gathered could be used for future purposes!! just my 2 cents!
