Awe come on you know how sensitive these Yankee fans are because deep down they know they could not compete in today’s game if it was a level playing field.

Since 1996 the Yankees have spent (excluding luxury tax and in season additions) $2,197,000,000 in salaries leading the league every year except once when Baltimore beat them by a couple of hundred thousand one year. The Red Sox are number two having finished 2nd in salaries in 8 out of those 15 years at $1,549,000,000 a difference in spending at number 2 of $647,600,000 or a difference of over $43 million per year.

But to Yankee fans that doesn't count.
