After Seeing Wayne's website this is starting to make more sense. His article supporting Obama's Community Reinvestment Act leads me to believe they have more than just the govt's ear. Living and working in the DC area I can tell you it's all about who you know when it comes to doing business with the federal govt. I suspect there is going to be a short list of "vendors" that will be a part of this federal initiative as well any contingincy plan moving forward.

There are going to be companies that BP will hire directly and those dialed into the Federal initiative. MOP is going to need to a vehicle to do business with the feds (GSA Schedule for example) if they are going to secure any sizeable contracts. This is tradionally a long and maticulous process. I know this from personal experience. If they are looking to get it fast tracked which my guess is they are they are going to need a lot of cash.

If this is the case and I am just speculating there may not be a need for a tradiional marketing budget. Partner with distributors and clean up companies while securing a spot at the Federal cleanup table. How much of this Diamond can put out at this point...I dont know. If you think about it his company is earthy, green and fits the small business appeal that will only help the Administration's image as it pertains to cleaning up the gulf.

My opinion only but nothing is gonna happen until the feds move on their initiative. Until then I think we are gonna be stuck with speculative pr's.
