Tenchu: 8M is based on somewhat old data - 1Q02. That came directly from the AMD quarterly report. AMD did not report units sold in 2Q, though revenue was down 33% Q/Q so one would assume that units sold fell, though I do not know how much. I believe that much of the revenue decline was due more to sharply declinings ASPs than to decreased units sold. But is certainly a fair assumption that they did not sell 8M units in 2Q.

I agree with your statement about binsplits. However, it is even more difficult to speculate about binsplits that yields. Based on the excellent overclockability of the lower speed grades for Tbred "A", it would appear that binsplits are pretty good for that stepping. I have no idea about the "B" stepping though.
