Ugh! That was one ugly game, for a Diamondbacks fan!
It is clear that we are missing the presence of Luis Gonzalez and Craig Counsel at the plate. I knew this would be a toughie, so I'm not surprised by that.
However ... Randy Johnson had HUGE problems last night. His stuff was good, his fastball was pure heat. Problem was, his control was NOT there. The common taters (more on those guys later) said it looked like he was worried that he was telegraphing his pitches. He adjusted his delivery. He used to glare at the pitcher over the webbing of his glove. This game, he started with the glove down by his side. Then later he went back to the old delivery. It was a real mess!
Also, the bullpen didn't do the job at all. These guys need to get with the program if we are going to stay in the playoffs!
<RANT ON> Finally the common taters. They were purely awful! Chris Berman was the worst. Nobody seemed concerned about calling the game. There were many times the listener wasn't told who was coming to bat. They spent so much time in the later innings talking about all the trials and tribulations the Cardinals have gone through, that they stopped talking about the game AT ALL for many innings! Hey, I respect what the Cards have gone through, but when a common tater takes a quarter hour of game time comparing the Cards situation to what happened to the World Trade Center, I just want to hurl!
Tomorrow, I'm turning down the volume on those jokers. I'll listen to the play-by-play on the radio. I hope these guys get all the negative feedback they deserve. <RANT OFF>
