I would say that it is more like being married for 5 years and finding out that each of your kids has a different father while your wife has been telling you how faithful she is. She stopped talking to you 4 months ago and now that the DNA tests are starting to trickle in, you know why. The divorce hasn't even happened yet and she is already taking you to the cleaners. She has sold the house without your knowledge and has been sleeping with your attorney. Your accountant quit because she wouldn't provide him with the bills from her shopping sprees and she blames it on him because he wants more money for additional work that resulted from her actions.

Now she has new boyfriends who will solve all your problems (again). They will sell your kids (at a loss from what it cost you to get them to this point), try to pull the wool over a new accountant's eyes so you will not know that things are still bad, and get a new lawyer who has little hope of solving your problems but he is very handsome.

Of course, she is now promising to be good and says it will never happen again but that is what she said last year like all the wives before her. At some point you have to wonder if you love her or you are just stupid.
