Castle..great links and information. I now can see what made you suggest that. In any case, it turned out to be my ISP. I signed up for a trial with a competitor and no longer have any problems. I have gone back and forth between the two ISPs, and it becomes obvious. Virtually a lack of site connections with the faulty one, and perfect connections with the other. It's been flaky for a month, or so, but today took the cake. Thanks again for the shout, Frank
