Is there a specific cut off date commons would be paid up to?

I know, if you own on pay off date you get paid off but some payoffs can specify all who owned before a specific date get paid all those after don't.

We were discussing this over the weekend and were wondering if this has been mentioned by the EC or in any docs.

Anyone know?
