But again in Greece it was not just govt waste. That is just the story media sells us. True greece wasted money, but still the reason for the debt crisis started in Sept 08 with lehman and Wamu.
(Same with Levin: wanted to sell us fraud lead to the demise of Wamu. it may have been a factor, but it was definately not the only reason)

The underlying problem is the transfer of wealth from the US and Europe to Asia, basically meaning that we US/Europeans lived way above our standards.

Regarding Wamu, there is potential to be a precedence for a government actually admitting it did wrong. But still the seizure was before the election and so I think the democrats dont want to take the guilt alone. The Bill is a step forward, but they didnt tackle the the real problem; Multiple agencies with overlapping competences adding to the confusion of who is responsible...

Lets hope for the best, i lost a lot with wamu in 08 and have downgraded a lot. I hope it was not more money thrown into the fire.
