Actually, not true. They would have "Received" the barcode from the UCC. Larger manufactures will assign their own internal SKU numbers that may or may not use the same assignments as the manufacturer. The barcode itself is the same across the board for all buyers, they just relate it to their internal SKU when the barcode is scanned.
