I have just received confirmation to my inquiries that the " call the broker policy " is due to a dishonest set of trades that used Wave as an ingredient. It was dishonest trading that uses various accounts at different brokerages but in this case it was E-trade that took the hit. The policy implemented is part of E-trades standard practice to insure the safety of customers accounts. The requirement is at E-trade only as thats where the damage was done. The requirement most likely will last for several months.

This is, of course, not good for frequent traders but it is the situation. I will do my infrequent trades through the phone and see how it works.
