Just another dumb question...........what if there are not enough shares available at the current prices for the shorts to buy............what if the reason is that the MM's are acquiring shares in their own accounts waiting for the (hopefully) eventual 'semi-panic' to cover by the shorts.

Sounds good, but, on the other hand, if I were a naked short of anything on the list, I'd probably have covered within the first 2 days....................comments. disparaging remarks are welcome.
