OT:unix...Wozniak was working at HWP...

while tweaking his apple. He was tweaking for years at home and in the fabled 'garage' before they even got to the stage (1973-74)that you refer to. One could say that Woz was in a perpetual startup mode for a full decade prior to the 'garage years'. They had no money and Jobs had to sell his minivan to pay for computer parts.

Really not that different from Wave Systems....just depends on how you look at it.
