Verizon Wireless to introduce '3G' on 2-1-2005.

From Philadelphia Inquirer (AP), Saturday, January 8, 2005:

Verizon Wireless to launch "3G" cellular phone service nationwide on February 1, 2005. The service will cost $15.00 a month in addition to customer's regular wireless charges, and feature on-demand video at up to 500 kbs, music and three dimensionally rendered video games.

To receive the new service, most customers will have to upgrade to new multimedia phones.

IF THIS IS TRULY "3G", IS VERIZON AN IDCC LICENSEE? IF NOT, SHOULD THEY BE? AND IF THEY SHOULD BE, WILL "3G" (RELATIVE TO IDCC), JUST BE A CONTINUATION OF "2G" INFRINGEMENTS WITH ASSOCIATED NON-PAYMENTS?
