Ahhh... we can agree it's 'mandated'... hmmm... 1997, eh... guess I ain't in the loop... but, regardless... is it no wonder it's only now coming to attention? That aside... now that it is coming to attention... who does it benefit?
Not the consumer, imo... not the broadcasters... not the media companies... not the manufacturers...
And, imo it, in the long run, won't benefit the 'artist'.
"broadcast flag"... it will, eventually, become worthless... ways around it will always be one step away... costing who? the consumer? or the artist? Both??
Giving it a little more thought... by the time this technology is 'mandated' and 'law' there will already be a way around it... making the whole idea a dollar short (our dollar) a day late (again, our dollar).... or... it may be a back door into our private lives....
