They are shorts by the MM's but, they are done in order to provide "market liquidity". They are not done with malicious intent. They are not trying to harm a stocks pps, they are not short positions.
So the MM's don't trade for their own accounts? If an MM's sister is worth .0004 and he can short her at .0003, are you saying that he wouldn't do it over and over for the 25%?
Are you saying that to provide liquidity, yesterday's long-sell vol required a short of 87.8% of the total vol? I think not.
