Yes. Of course MMs short shares. They have to in order to their job...Making a Market. But they normally ARE covered within the T+3 timeframe. Most know that.
Why is it a farce? They're short sales executed daily.
Farce is probably not the right word to use, but it is useless information as it is not relevant nor timely. The fact that they report a total of shares shorted over a period of time is not relevant as they've already been covered...and of course the company pays buyins.net to report that info to trick people into thinking that there's some big short position that will need to be covered in short time. That's just not the case.
MMs short almost every pinksheet stock. If that weren't the case, there would be little to no trading activity as each buy would need to be offset by a sell.
Portraying the fact that there are large short positions which will cover soon, when it's just MM activity, is a farce. The MMs covering their short positions is incredibly different from individual investors covering theirs. That's the REAL fact.
