Elmer, what are you talking about? AMD has delivered BIG TIME!

-- First they delivered "QuantiSpeed"

This is when I first became concerned that they were in trouble-- the point wasn't the QS ratings assigned to the processors they were then shipping, which were competitive, but it made me suspect that AMD management knew that they were going to fall further and further behind, and would need QS to claim competitiveness.

-- Now, they've delivered "AMD ME!!!". Wow. Would any guy have come up with that? And the enthusiast market is comprised 99% of.... non-females. Then they run the ad in the WSJ. I think Ed Stroglio captured the reasons for my naseau well:

"Did the ad agency mess up and give AMD the Apple ad?"

(the rest is priceless)

Now this makes me think they are truly desperate. That they can't even compete at all in terms of performance for the next year, so they have to market/spin their way to survival. OMG.

I first bought AMD three years ago. I held on, and saw the glory days. I sold it, and then bought and sold several more times. The last time I bought it was about a week ago. Just before the announcement that Hammer and Barton would be delayed again. I sold the day after.
