It seems there are quite a few "Anti-Energy" Drinks, only time will tell which ones last.

I have my own reservations about whether or not the whole relaxation beverage thing is particularly viable to begin with. I live in the Northeast US and travel around a lot during my work. I go into loads of convenience stores and I have never seen a relaxation drink or shot in any of them. Ever. If it was a hot item/idea and people were clamoring for it, it'd be there.

The things that make it a relaxation beverage are not new, they have all been available forever to anyone who wants them. I can buy Melatonin, Valerian, Rose Hips, Milk Thistle and whatever else is in there very cheaply in any large grocery store, pharmacy or mall food supplement/health food place. Everything except the Melatonin is available in commercial 'Sleepytime' type tea which certainly has followers, but hot tea at bed time makes sense. A sugary, ice cold pop drink at bed time doesn't.

What also doesn't make sense is marketing or selling something designed to make you sleepy the same way as something you grab to refresh yourself. If anyone gets drowsy drinking the product and then falls asleep at the wheel as a result, you can kiss c-store willingness to carry the product goodbye as their liability insurance skyrockets.

And there's the ever-present possibility that the FDA will decide to regulate food supplements. Just look around at everything else the govt is deciding to stick their noses into like regulating the salt content in food, banning water in plastic bottles and other nanny-state stuff like that. Melatonin is not just a food supplement either, it's a hormone. All this stuff is safe now, but a company relying on the continuing freedom to sell it unregulated is asking for trouble, IMO.
