Well, it appears the FIRST energy drink was called "Iron Brew" (Yes, I had to research it because I had no idea), humm I bet you have heard of that one? It was started in 1901.
Red Bull wasn't introduced till 1987, it those 86 years there were MANY other types of energy drink, so while by your defination they are a knock off, they seem to be doing pretty well.
I find it interesting that you have brought it now down to a level of just hammering away at the product, though from most everyone I have talked to they think it has a good flavor and most people say it does have a relaxing effect. So, there are some points of your I do agree with at times, this one seems to be pretty far out in left field.
It seems there are quite a few "Anti-Energy" Drinks, only time will tell which ones last.
