US concerned over if enough anti-oil boom available Tue May 11, 2010 6:05pm EDT http://www.reuters.com/article/idAFN1112683020100511?rpc=44 MOBILE, Ala., May 11 (Reuters) - The U.S. government was concerned about whether enough protective boom was being provided to adequately defend the U.S. Gulf Coast shoreline threatened by a massive oil spill, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Tuesday.
"We have some concerns about getting adequate boom," she told reporters, adding that it was the responsibility of BP (BP.L) to clean up the oil, prevent its impact on the U.S. coast, seal the ruptured well and pay resulting damages claims. (Reporting by Verna Gates, Editing by Pascal Fletcher)
