Was watching the Noon news today and they had a short segment on the use of stem cells for treating dog joints....by retrieving cells from the dogs fat, doing their magic to isolate the stem cells and using said stem cells to grow and repair the cartilage in their joints. Also mentioned that you could store these stem cells. I've been through similar problems with one of my German Sheppards. He was afflicted with Degenerative Myelopathy...a disease that only effects 1% of German Sheappards. This disease is almost a mirror image of Muscular Dystrophy (MD). There is no cure, however, we did try some experimental treatments. In the meantime, I had him fitted for a wheel chair for his remaining days.
Point is, stem cell treatments/cures are not just for us....but for out pets and animals as well.
Oh Yeah, stem cells are the Future and the Future is Now.
