Ebay owned paypal, and paypal has been doing a much better job than passport so far. However, paypal is still a software based consumer transaction services. By 2007, if 80% of the computer will be trusted, Ebay / paypal can use wave technology to develop their owned trusted network which will be far better security than that of passport today. Again, that is only my guess, and I could be wrong.
