I wonder how eager Walrath must be to issue the summary judgment ruling on the $4B deposits, considering the lawyers for WMI/JPMC/FDIC spent an hour into the March omnibus hearing convincing her of a "global settlement" in chambers, and how different her ruling would have treated the money as opposed to the agreement WMI and JPMorgan came up with.

I inferred her expedient pen on the motion to shorten as a signal that Walrath is tired of wasting time because WMI cajoled her that they were formulating a resolution in good faith. Uzual's tip that the UST will move to appoint an examiner almost makes May 5th a foregone conclusion, albeit a dramatic one :)

P.S. Believe it or not, I am getting married on May 5th to my fiancée of two years! We will have our honeymoon in New York. I hope it will be a Cinco de Mayo for all of us to remember! lol
