I think you will find that the EC hired Solomon to render a true unbiased valuation of WMI only. The valuation may include the subsidiaries absorbed by JPM because they may still belong to WMI, but it is unlikely that the valuation will include WMB because that is a done deal.

The independent examiner will be looking into the actions of the various people, entities, and parties that were and are involved in the seizure, sale, and bankruptcy negotiations of WMI to determine if their actions were appropriate, legal, or criminal. It is unlikely that the efforts of Solomon and the examiner will overlap much except that the examiner may include a valuation of WMB.

The court has already stated that they will frown upon paying for duplicate services.
